1.   何謂子句(clause)?有哪些種類?

子句就是句子,至少包含S(主詞)與V(動詞)

包括三種-名詞子句, 形容詞子句,與副詞子句

<1>名詞子句:

定義:把一個句子轉變成名詞

功能:當作主詞s與受詞o或主詞補語sc與受詞補語oc

有三種

1 that Sv

That the pandemic is worse is true (s)

I know that  the pandemic is worse(o)

The fact is that  the pandemic is worse(sc)

I know the fact that  the pandemic is worse(OC)

2 6Ws  Sv

What you said pleases me(S)

I am pleased with what you said(o)

I went to Taipei where you live(oc)

3 3Ws+V單

What is tender(嫩) is my favorite(s)

I like to eat what is tender(o)

I don’t know who is responsible(負責任的) for it (O)

Who arrives the earliest is the winner.(S)

Who knows which is better-this or that?(o)

<2>形容詞子句:

定義:把一個句子轉變成形容詞

功能:倒位修飾前面的名詞

有三種

1.   NSV

The book (which) I read

The person (whom) I talked to

2.   that+V(在句中)

The person that(=who) stand over there is my borther

3 N+Ving/Vpp/adj

The person standing (=who stands)there is my brother

The food cooked (which was cooked ) by my mom is delicious

Janny,(who is )innocent and naïve,is my daughter.

<3>副詞子句:

    定義:把一個句子轉變成副詞

功能:修飾主要子句的動詞

Conj S1 V1,S2 V2

If I have leisure time, I will use it well(表條件if副詞子句修飾use)

I sleep a lot because I am tired. (表原因because副詞子句修飾use)

Conj:(從屬連接詞(

1.   一字連接詞:

if, because, when, before, after, although, since,until

2.   二字連接詞

Even if,even though,as if ,as though

Even though you have much leisure time,you still need to cherish(珍惜)it well

3.   三字連接詞

As long as只要 ,as soon as一     就       

As long as I live, I want to live meaningfully.

I met my aunt as soon as I went back home.
